What size tent will I need?

Tent size can be determined two ways:
- Available space in yard or venue
- Type of event
- Number of guests
12 square feet per person is the standard requirement for a Seated Dinner with 5’ Round Tables
10 square feet per person is the standard requirement for a Seated Dinner with 8’ Banquet Tables
8 square feet per person is the standard requirement for:
Theatre Seating (in rows)
Bridal, Baby Shower, Cocktail Party (some seating)
6 square feet per person for Cocktail Party (no seating)
Standard Tent Size
Calculate your numbers to determine the total square footage you will need.
10’x20’ tent = 200 square feet
15’x15’ tent = 225 square feet
20’x20’ = 400 square feet (this is the most popular size)
20’x40’ tent = 800 square feet
20’x60’ tent = 1200 square feet
30’x30’ tent = 900 square feet
35’x40 hex tent = 1040 square feet
40’x40’ tent = 1600 square feet
40’x60’ tent = 2400 square feet
Additional sizes are available.
Additional space is needed if:
- There will be Dancing-add 5 square feet per person. In most instances, only 50 % of your guests will be dancing at one time.
General Dance Floor Sizes are:
Floors are standard sizes so % may not match.
100 guests will require 200 square feet which is a 16’x16’ dance floor
150 guests will require 342 square feet which is a 16’x20’ or 20’x20’ dance floor
200 guests will require 450 square feet which is an 18’x24’ or 20’x24’ dance floor
250 guests will require 567 square feet which is an 18’x30’ or 24’x24’ dance floor
- There is a Band-
3 piece band will require an additional 100 square feet with an 8’x 12’ stage
5 piece band will require an additional 250 square feet with a 12’x20’ stage
7 piece band will require an additional 300 square feet with a 12’x24’ stage
- Disc Jockey will need an additional 200 square feet
- Buffet Food Lines will need an additional 100 square feet per 50 guests
Beverage Stations or Bars will need an additional 50 square feet each
Do you offer fans, air conditioning and heaters?
Yes we do. Speak with one of our planners to determine your needs.
How many tables and chairs do I need?
- Banquet Tables use less space than Round Tables.
- For most events (reception style), ½ -2/3 of the guests should have seating.
- For Sit Down Dinners, seating should be provided for each guest.
Comfortable Seating for 8’ Tables is 8 guests with maximum seating of 10
Comfortable Seating for 6’ Tables is 6 guests with maximum seating of 8
30” Round Tables seat 2 guests
36” Round Tables seat 4 guests
48” Round Tables seat 6 guests
60” Round Tables seat 8 guests
72” Round Tables seat 10 guests
What size Linens do I need?
Most popular Linen sizes are as follows:
8’ Banquet Tables will need a 90”x156” Linen to the floor and a 60”x120” Linen to drop 15” off the side of the table.
6” Banquet Tables will need a 90”x132” Linen to the floor and a 60”x120” Linen to drop 15” off the side of the table.
30” HI Boy Tables will need a 120” Round Linen to the floor if wrapping a sash around the linen. A 108” Round Linen will just drop to the floor.
30” Round Tables will need a 90” Round Linen to the floor
36” Round Tables will need a 108” Round Linen to the floor (with slight puddle) or a 90” Round Linen just above the floor
48” Round Tables will need a 108” Round Linen to the floor or a 90” Round Linen to drop off the sides of the Table
60” Round Tables will need a 120” Round Linen to the floor or a 90” Linen to drop off the sides of the Table
72” Round Tables will need a 132” Round Linen to the floor or a 108” Linen to drop off the sides of the table
What size skirting do I need?
Linen Skirting for an 8’ Table (4 sided) is a 21” skirt
Linen Skirting for an 8’ Table (3 sided) is a 13” skirt
Linen Skirting for a 6’ Table (4 sided) is a 17” skirt
Linen Skirting for a 6’ Table (3 sided) is a 13” skirt
Linen Toppers (square and round) are also available.
What color linens should I have?
Linen Colors play a big role in the mood of a wedding or special event.
White represents purity, cleanliness, and innocence. White also creates a sense of space.
Black represents sophistication, power and elegance.
Red represents excitement, passion and intensity.
Orange represents vibrancy, energy and excitement.
Yellow represents cheer, warmth and alertness.
Green represents health and tranquility.
Blue represents peace, trust and loyalty.
Purple represents royalty, wisdom and wealth.
How many glasses will I need for my event?
Guests will usually drink approximately 1 drink per hour so a glass per person per hour is needed.
- For Cocktail Parties you should have Flutes for Champagne, Red Wine, White Wine, Rock, and Goblet (for soft drinks) Glassware.
- 1 Glass of each type should be supplied plus a few extra for heavy drinkers.
How many plates do I need?
Guests will utilize 1.25 plates per person. If dessert is served, an additional plate per person will be needed.
Additional plates will be needed if serving from several Serving Stations. Plan on 1 plate per person per station.
